Gin Gimlet
The Gimlet is a classic cocktail made of gin and fresh lime juice, prized for its clean, tart simplicity. A 1928 description of the drink kept things equally simple: gin, and a spot of lime. The drink gained a certain literary fame through Raymond Chandler's 1953 novel The Long Goodbye, which famously declared that "a real gimlet is half gin and half Rose's lime juice and nothing else." This proportion aligns with the classic recipe set out in The Savoy Cocktail Book, which calls for equal parts Plymouth Gin and Rose's Lime Juice Cordial — a formula that has stood the test of time as the definitive ratio for the drink. Over the decades, the Gimlet has become a staple of both classic cocktail bars and literary cocktail culture, admired for its balance of bright acidity and smooth spirit, with no need for embellishment.

Candied Gondhoraj lime bar and Caramelized Mosambi Caraway bars from Naviluna
The fragrant, floral citrus notes of Gondhoraj lime mirror the Gimlet's own bright lime character, while the warm caraway and mellow sweetness of the Mosambi bar add a subtle spiced complexity that plays against the drink's crisp acidity. Together, they create a pairing that's equal parts refreshing and aromatic, highlighting the citrus-forward nature of the cocktail.
